genki desu ka?

We have all benefitted from Georgia's guilt at playing a mean trick on Simon. She told him she'd outed him on the web as a lapsed straight edger, which made him want to vomit. To make up for her naughtiness, Miss Cat prepared Simon a vegan banquet, and there was more than enough for any strays who came sniffing around now that it was possible to contemplate voluntarily spending an evening in a top-storey apartment without airconditioning. Yes, we all looked cool and elegant, if only the camera would show it; suppose I'd better learn to use it properly if I so hate the flash. Super yummy dinner, thanks Puss Puss!

venture outside

I can confirm it is shtinking hot in the streets of Adelaide - just went across the road to the bank. There the weather was the hot topic of conversation; a young guy was complaining about how everyone complains about the weather, which he personally thought was bloody beautiful. What do they expect, this is Australia, he asked everyone. Well, you try working outside 24 hours a day, said an older Italian guy with moustache and baseball cap, looking very much like the sort of person who wouldn't work eight hours a day let alone 24. I do mate, I'm a jackhammerer. There was no comeback to that one, and the guy was so insanely cheerful everyone thought he'd had too much sun.
In another plus for my relationship with Adelaide, this being a Bank SA branch, the teller accidentally put an extra five cents into my account which she couldn't be bothered reversing and so left it there as a Christmas present.

Thursday

the project

This is something i've been wanting to do for a while. Start this little project to make myself love the town I live in. As opposed to the one I'm from, which I do love.
This project will be about documenting all the great things about this place, and all the strange and unusual and comical things too. And a little bit about me, because it takes two to make a relationship work. And quite frankly I haven't been putting in! Which produces a kind of disconnected feeling - like I'm here but I'm not here.
